MORE 2012
Meeting on Optical Response in Extended Systems
November, 14-16 2012
Vienna/Austria
MORE 2012 follows the spirit of the highly successful Low
Energy Spectrometry Symposiums (LESS 2007 and 2009) as well as MORE
2008 and 2010.
Optical absorption spectroscopy, resonant inelastic X-ray
scattering,
reflection EELS, ellipsometry, and reflectance difference
spectroscopy
are just a few of a large variety of experimental probes to explore
the
optical and higher-energy response of materials, including elemental
solids, compounds, molecules on surfaces or complex nanostructures.
On the theoretical side many body perturbation theory (MBPT) and
time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) represent
state-of-the-art developments to describe excitation processes in
materials.
Both theory and experiment being complementary, ideally should go
hand
in hand to promote development and leading edge research.
Bringing together experimentalists and theoreticians of these
different
fields is the main intention of MORE 2012.
